Peeing standing up and other things

Pee standing up ladies!  Sweeeet!  —> pStyle by Jade & Pearl

I used to use Jade & Pearl’s sea sponge tampons until I realized that sea sponges are animals (single celled, but nonetheless)! Too bad, bc those things were really handy & comfy .. but not at the expense of another being’s consciousness.  Sorry! Next step is the DivaCup I guess …

Other thing I’m excited about is that I finally signed up for a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) … and I did it online through Door To Door Organics, a Michigan-based company. Purists might say this is against the main idea of a CSA – to know your farmer – but for me it’s the convenience of the internet helping me to live my ideal and have access to consistently good quality organic food!  Don’t get me wrong, I love going to the farmer’s market, but i haven’t made it there once this year!   I travel a lot [lately] and am pretty busy with a lot of things, so sometimes getting to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s is a big trip for me [plus, they’re a chain] … Since I eat a lot of fruits & veggies this is economical for me, and the box will be delivered to my door!

My first shipment in Wednesday.  Here’s to being a lazy environmentalist. I’ll let you know how it is.

Have you tried the pStyle? I’ve been looking at these devices lately too, but can’t find one I’m happy with. I don’t like the rolled-up plastic things. This looks good, and if you’re having success with it, I’d love to hear a good review.

I’ve yet to try the pStyle, not sure if I will for a while. I can see it being handy though when travelling a lot. Sorry! It’s cheap ($12) so I say if you’re looking for one go ahead and buy … I’ll eagerly await YOUR review! lolz
and I think I’m going to set up a fence soon and hope that my plants will regenerate XD Thanks for all the suggestions! [facebookers & friends unanimously agreed a fence would be my best option.]

We used chicken wire & some 1 X2’s for the fence. I just put photos on Facebook if you want to use it as a reference, but I wouldn’t hold it up as the best example of fence building ever 😉 It does do its job, and no further rabbit attacks! However, if you’re dealing with deer, they’re a lot taller & could easily lean over.

I’ll let you know when I try the p-style!

sea sponges. never heard of those being used that way before! they have much more than just one cell, though. They have layers of cells with acellular stuff in the middle, but they don’t have any nerves or any sort of organized innards (gut, etc.).

DivaCup – I recommend! I don’t know what took me so long, and i don’t know how I could ever go back to using more conventional “products”. I got mine at a local health/nature store, but Amazon seems to have a much better price.

oh, ya. I’m a facebook & blog stalker.

      Lisi,
Thanks for the info! I wasn’t sure about sponges. .. I’m trying the disposable “instead” version (you can buy it at regular drug stores here) of the Diva cup before buying one. Hopefully will get to use it this weekend …
      I’m glad you’re a fb & blog stalker! LOLz

Update: I got my p-style in the mail & it is pretty awesome. Easy enough to use, since I haven’t peed on myself once. Also, the way you use it (pulling it forward at the end) eliminates dribbling. Pretty cool. It’s a little difficult to hold, but I think I’ll get used to it. I’d recommend it, especially for camping or hiking. Squatting in mosquito territory & potentially getting poison ivy or at the very least accidentally getting pee on my clothes–fuck that noise!

Awesome! Thanks for the review! I may have to get one for my camping days. BTW I thought of you & the p-style when running my half marathon b/c there were ridiculous lines at the porta-johns. In the end, I peed (squatting) behind them as ppl ran by LOL. Not saying I would carry it with me on a race – perhaps on a long run though it def come in handy!
