Thanks for sharing this article Aletha.

As many of you know I am an advocate for locally grown food and have been working with a farmer in Holland Patent to make his grass-fed meat more readily available. If you are interested in finding local producers near you check out www.localharvest.org the link below is to our local area

Excellent article! Says alot about how far from good beef we have really come and how it is impacted our lives. One of your 90+ emailers commented via email about Organic and meadow raised meats. I cannot personally afford meats along those lines I hope that demand for meats raised using humane and organic methods will lower the price for those of us that choose to eat meat.

I commented on an earlier Blog entry about a friend of mine who raises sheep for wool and meat. This same farmer also counts beef and poultry amongst other organic and meadow grazed meat products. I support this type of farming.

Whole heartedly agreeing that we abuse our food long before it hits the table and this is not good for the animal and the results... well you are what you eat right? There is far too much waste in the meat industry and the days of the small (less or non abusive) meat farmer are numbered unless consumers turn the tide.
